Nose: Surprisingly complex, given the modest cost. Immediately smoky, more campy than pungent like Islay smoke. A balance struck between the benefits of a relatively young whisky and the influence of oak. Musk.Palate: Shoe polish, pecans, maple candy and walnuts. Salt and pepper. Red Maple leaves. Gentle and clean.
Finish: In line with the nose and palate. Pleasant, not drawn out, but satisfying.
Additional Notes:
- I really love this whisky. It's remarkably smooth, very flavorful, and underrated in its smokiness.
- I find it for under $35.00 and hope that never changes.
